Lead Pastor

Keith grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1984 with a BA in English literature. While at A&M he served as a volunteer with Young Life and it was during that involvement that he met Dee Ann. Keith and Dee Ann were married in the summer of 1984 and immediately moved to New England where Keith entered seminary at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Upon finishing his Masters of Divinity in 1987, Keith and Dee Ann returned to Denton, Texas where Keith became Area Director of Young Life. Keith served in that role for four years, but it was during the fourth year that through various circumstances Keith began to feel God calling him to New York City. In 1992 he came to NYC to serve as the Associate Pastor to Gordon MacDonald at Trinity Baptist Church. A year later Rev. MacDonald resigned and Keith was asked to serve as the interim. In July of 1993 Keith stepped into the role of Senior Pastor at Trinity. Keith received a Doctorate of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell with a focus on Faith in the Marketplace. Keith and his wife Dee Ann live in Manhattan with their three children, Hannah, Benjamin and Claire.

Before attending Central Washington University, James Leonard was on staff with Young Life in Washington State. During his university days he helped to develop a campus based ministry through the Christian and Missionary Alliance called S.A.L.T. This ministry quickly grew from 40-some people to well over 700 in two short years. Upon Graduating in 1997, James moved to New York where he attended Alliance Theological Seminary. During this time James worked as the Volunteer Manager for the mercy and justice ministry Hope for New York, where he developed strategic relationships between 2000 + volunteers and over 20 faith based ministries. James also worked for Redeemer Presbyterian Church as their Associate Director of Church Life where he focused on leadership development, spoke at many retreats geared for young professionals, and developed multiple community oriented ministries. In October of 2002, James married his wife Elizabeth. In March of 2003, James Left Redeemer and became the Associate Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church where he concentrates primarily on community and connectedness, small group development, evangelism, assimilation, and strategic planning.

Beth Markham,
Director of Worship Arts
|
|
Beth joined the Trinity staff as Choir Director in 2002, and in 2007 stepped into the role of Director of Worship Arts. Beth’s family will have you know that she is a native Southern Californian, though her accent when excited (or very tired) gives away a childhood spent in Ft. Worth, TX. After enjoying an 18 year career in the theatre and music industries, traveling the globe as singer, actor, and music director Beth surrendered to the call to serve an audience of One. She holds a degree in music from Pepperdine University, and completed graduate studies in Musical Theatre at Oklahoma City University. Beth’s desire is to see lives transformed by the manifest presence of God in the praises of His people. Her passion for Jesus and zeal for worshiping Him in spirit and in truth, she prays, is evident in the worship arts ministry at Trinity and in her life. Beth is abundantly blessed to be wife of Roy and mother of Jaclyn Victoria.

She has been a driving force in the development of a new program for our 1st-5th grade children call Godquest Bible Adventure Workshops and was instrumental in the implementation of our children's lending library. Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Hunter College in New York.
